Senior Research Scientist - Computer Vision
Contribute to cutting-edge, intelligent video analytics research and push the frontiers of smart home applications. Invent, improve, and customize state-of-the-art techniques in computer vision, machine learning, deep learning, and edge computing. Research novel ideas to solve real-life use cases. Participate in developing and engineering these ideas into functioning modules. These modules will be integrated into the existing OVL intelligent video analytics ecosystems and Alarm.com smart home products to be used by millions of users. Our research group is growing rapidly. The successful candidate will have ample opportunities to research creative ideas, serve in leadership roles, mentor junior team members, and lead complex projects. The successful candidate must be conversant with the latest development in deep learning for visual recognition and video analytics. Knowledge and experience in deep model optimization for edge inference and training is a plus. Areas of interest include but are not limited to:
object classification/detection/reidentification; single/multi-camera object tracking and association; human pose estimation and gesture recognition; activity classification/detection/recognition; 3D modeling and reconstruction; semantic/instance/panoptic segmentation; feature extraction and matching; face detection/verification/recognition; image and video synthesis; image denoising and quality improvement; deep embedding learning; adversarial learning such as generative adversarial networks. Candidate Profile PhD in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience. 5
years of work experience in a relevant field. Solid research background and experience in computer vision, machine learning, deep learning Demonstration of both the breadth and the depth of knowledge and track record of solving challenging problems in real-world scenarios. Current knowledge of computer vision literature with strong publication record Excellent written and oral communication skills also required.
